Today I was searching the internet and discovered an article about how Fox wants to make a live action film version of the hit tv series Cowboy Bebop. This is one of my favorite shows so I'm willing to give them a chance however if the pictures begin looking like the DragonBall movie I will be highly upset. I guess it depends if they take a Star Trek/ Star Wars approach to the movie and how much CHI and special effects. Only time will tell! You can read the full article below: www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-07-22/live-action-cowboy-bebop-film-in-development-at-fox

Here's what I posted over at our boards.
While the music will DEFINITELY make the film, I highly doubt they're going to go after Yoko Kano or immitate her music.
Hell, I'd be happy if they had Tank! playing on a radio or TV in the background but I doubt they'll even do that.
While a Cowboy Bebop movie COULD be good if done right...I don't think this one is going to be all that great.
However, I will reserve all my judgement until I see photos, read/hear the plot summary, and actually see it for myself.
Why can't Hollywood at least get a bunch of Japanese producers help them if they want to make live action anime films? I mean, look at the live action Mushi-Shi film. It was FANTASTIC *coughsomeonesentmeasubcough* and it was completely Japanese made. At least if they excepted help it wouldn't turn into the crap fest and disappointment that Speed Racer ended up being. Though I think that bust may have partially been due to the Wachowski brothers. >_>
Anyway, enough of my griping. I'll wait to see photos of the cast, reading plot descriptions, and seeing the film myself before I will ultimately judge the film. However I still have a right to be wary right?
----- Also, just a quick question for Supreme Master. Is that the main character Van from Gun X Sword? I've only seen the first disc of the series but it looked interesting.

I agree with you and they better have Tank! and "The Real Folks Blues" somewhere in that movie, its one of the reasons why I started watching the show. I will never forget the last episodes when they played the entire "The Real Folks Blue" song during the final battle scene.
------- Yes Alc, that is Van from Gun X Sword as my avantar. It was a great show, I enjoyed watching it.
