I wasn't exactly sure where to put this so I figured why not the art board? After all, cosply is a type of art! Its 3D art! Anyways, this year for Otakon I decided to do something Mecha, so I picked the Liger Zero, my favorite zoid of all time! For my 17th birthday which was on April 11, my friend said she would help me with my cosplay as a present. So, thats what we have been doing. So far we have various pieces everywhere but on our long list of to do's here is one thing we finally got done! I know it is a small part, but this is the Liger Zero's tail. Its heavy with the gun and it took 8 hours to make but it was fun! Trust me, carving that foam to look like the gun was a MAJOR pain in the ass! Wait until you guys get a good shot of the head when its done! That is my friend wearing the tail, she took it with her to paint^^ I think it looks amazing! UPDATE TIME!!!
WE HAVE A HEAD WITH A MOVEABLE JAW! GO WATCH THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE NOW!!!-points to link below- www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOXvhsp9Hs8

Nice work, I can see the detail that went into the art of the tail. I can't believe it took you 8 hours just for the tail however everything else should be easier if you do the armor in big pieces. Side armor, body armor, sword, and face armor. Are you going to be able to finish your design before Otakon? It seems like you need an entire to working with you, lol! I can see why you haven't had time to do anything else.

The head is 40 percent done, the jaw moves when I talk. Now it has to be foamed and painted. The construction of just the underskull took 11 hours to get it right.
Head- 40% done Body- 100% done Chassy- 5% done Boosters- 0% done Tail- 100% done Shoulder Armor- 60 % done Hip Armor- 50% done Knee Armor- 0% done Forearm Armor- 5% done Feet- 20 % done Front Claws- 60% done Side Stabilizors- 5% done

Whoa, I didn't think there was so many parts. You do need a crew, however this project will looks amazing when it is finish. You will probably be the first person to every even attempt to design a Liger Zero suite like this. I don't know what is harder, building it, or getting the correct color of paint?

Anyways, it will get done....it will...it'll be a pain but it will.

Yeah thats right the foam is white. There is only a few areas that will be painted black and gold. Well you still have a little over a month before Otakon, however w it sounds like you have a full time job with this project. Will it be the first of many?

First of many? Oh, its the second of many. Here, I'll post up pictures of LAST year's cosplay..it was a royal pain as well. I'll start a new topic for that one.
I'll post more pictures here as we move along. And if I can get a camera, I'll video tape myself with the outfit and put it on youtube^^ Actually there already is a video of me on youtube in my last year's cosplay, I'll get that and put it up as well.

Sounds like you been down this path multiple times, your becoming a pro. You got a video on youtube lol. You take this task very serious, which is great. Everyone needs a hobby, mines is collecting comic books. I don't have the patience to do what your are working on now. I probably would have given up or found an easy way by now.

with the gun on the end of the tail it weighs like a pound I suppose. I'm going to tie some fishing wire to the end and attatch the wire to the boosters to hold it up. though my friend suggested I put the wire on the end of a pole and someone can hold the pole and make my tail move around.
Pro? Oh hell no I'm not a pro! If I were a pro I would have like 50 awards by now..I'm only a navice...

Haha, well if your lucky enough to finish the design in time maybe you will win an award this year! Then people will be asking you for advice and taking pictures with you. As for the tail, if you tide a wire to the tail to the booster, if you move the booster, the tail would shift positions and vise verse, right?

Perhaps, but the pole idea is just too funny to pass up. I posted the video of me at otakon last year. I edited my other topic called amaterasu.

The pole idea is pretty funny. Just try not to step on your own tail. And try not to get into Zoids battles while your out there. lol

I don't think there will be any other zoids.. and I won't step on my own tail, no worries. Though I am going to stalk any Hellsing cosplayers. And I WILL steal the guns from Alucard and play a stupid joke...-is shot-

Already stalking your prey. Sounds like you will have alot of fun, which is always important. Take some time out for yourself and do something exciting. Will your two friends be joining you this year aswell? Will one be the judge of the battle and the other should be a zoid too. Now that would be interesting.
