"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth." - Elric Brothers. Full Metal Alchemist was a great show about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse, quest for the Philosopher's Stone. You learn a lot from this show about alchemy, and Human Transmutation. The show had 51 episodes and a movie called Fullmetal Alchemist The Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa. img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/kingofgames/s1926979.jpg

I recorded the entire series! I love this anime^^ It was one of my frist. Alot of people I talk to though don't like it cause they say its really sad. And it is but still...I love it. Especially when Ed freaks out because you call him short!

Yeah it was one of the first shows I remember watching. Basically the show was about two misguided brothers that had the right intention, they just went about it the wrong way. One of my favorite characters was Scar.

Loved the anime... one of the absolute favorites in my book. The characters, the plot, the art, music, everything about it was gorgeous. I remember seeing the Japanese version of the movie as soon as it came out... I just couldn't wait for it to be released in the states.

You know I did the same thing. I saw the Japanese version of the movie then when it came out on DVD I saw it again. It was one of those movies when you didn't even need the words to understand what was going on. The best part about the movie is how they included every character in the series and place them into the movie.

I think there are two FullMetal Alchemist mangas. One version is COMPLETELY wrong! They screwed up all the Humunculi and just...AHHH they did it wrong!
I love the show though, and I loved the movie too. when I saw the last two epsidoes of the show, I cried, I sat there and cried!
Barry the Chopper, I thought he was funny!^^ I loved that guy.
Scar was a cool dude too. Though I still like Ed the best. But Wrath is my favorite Humunculi.^^

To my knowledge there's only the one manga, but I could be wrong.
FMA is definitely one of the best series I've ever seen. There's rumors of a second season in the works now...not sure how to feel about that, I mean, it could be epic but it could also ruin a good thing.

Hmm thats interesting I thought that the series was over and everything had been covered. I thought the movie was the perfect closing to the series.

I agree. I mean, the only thing about the movie was them...well, I don't wanna post spoilers, but the whole Ed/Al situation in the end. But, it fits with FMA's continuing theme of the world not being perfect, and that things aren't going to have a happy ending. While I wish it were happier, I actually think it's probably better this way.
But, they haven't really said much on the second season, if they actually do one in the end. It might actually just be a new show, following the manga instead of going off on it's own like this own did. Only time will tell.

No, I saw two different mangas of FMA when I went to boarders. One is follows the show to the T and the other is just..well...the other.
When I saw the ending of the FMA movie I cried. I was happy and sad at the same time. There was one thing that just seemed to unfair to me! But I'm not gonna say it cause it would spoil the ending.

You can post how it ended just used the spoiler tags. Then you can say whatever you want without ruining the movie for those who haven't seen it.

I just finished the series and it wasn't that sad...I didn't cry once but I usually cry for anime if their good at least...but I liked everything else but I didn't feel connected to the characters good plots and stuff liked it though ^^
Didn't watch the movie though because I watched the whole dub in 3 days so was kinda bored plus I read the summary and it sounded really boring maybe I should watch it but I don't feel like it now.

The movie is interesting, but like I said before, it wont make any sense unless you seen the last 10 episodes of the series. If I remember the movie correctly it takes in our world during World War II.

Yeah, the movie picks up in our time at WW2. I need to stop over complicating things, seriously. I keep drawing a big line connecting Hellsing, Trinity Blood, and FMA. Its weird. But if you've seen all three series in their enterity you'd get why I did that.
