It all began in the early 90's with a movie called Stargate. Since then we have had two series; Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, and another movie; Stargate: The Ark of Truth. The series is about the "Stargate", a ring-shaped alien device that creates a wormhole enabling personal teleportation to other Stargate devices in other galaxies. Stargate: The Ark of Truth was design to be a sequel to the series SG-1. A third movie has been filmed called Stargate: Continuum with a tentative released date sometime later this month.

SG-1 seemed ok. It was good to watch when I was about to good to school. The Movie was great though; i have it somewhere. *digs through messy room*

Yeah, that was the movie that started it all. The other two movies are based off of SG-1. Well good news for any other Stargate fans is that the new season of Stargate Atlantis starts this Friday, July 11th on Sic-FI Channel!

Stargate: Continuum has Jack O'Neil coming back to lead SG-1! Talk about awesome! XD
Also, at Comic Con 08 it was announced another movie is being made. However, this one will be bigger budget like the original Stargate movie. To my knowledge no information on the plot has been released and we also don't know if it'll be SG-1 timeframe or Atlantis timeframe.
Either way I'm looking forward to it.

Stargate: Continuum is being released tomorrow, July 29th. It is about time, can't wait to see it even though I'm disappointed that Colonel Carter is no longer on Atlantis. I think she had to leave Atlantis to film this Stargate movie and work on here new series. It will also be great to see O'Neil again.

I just read an article about three days ago that said that Stargate Atlantis will end with its fifth season. I'm a little disappointed considering the frequent change in command almost every season and now they are just going to end the show. The only good news is that they are planning on making movies like Stargate SG-1 which will probably go straight to DVD.
